IAGO
  • Quote: “I am not what I am.” – Iago (Act 1, Scene 1)
  • Analysis: Iago disrespected every women in the act, he is the prime example of misogyny who desires to control women and sexually objectify them at all cost. He criticized Desdemona for marrying a black man mocking her intelligence showing how foolish women can be. He also objectified women for pure sexual desires or lust saying they are important at night to satisfy their urges. Similarly, he also manipulated Emilia (his wife) into stealing handkerchief even though it distresses her. Also by killing Emilia it shows how controlling he was towards women because Emilia took a stand against him and he couldn’t bear that so he ended up killing her.  He also used women for another man’s downfall.
