Analysis: Her husband constantly belittles and insults Emilia, treating her as worthless and inferior. He uses cruel language to degrade her, showing no affection or respect. Emilia was objectified by her husband that she is only useful at night just for lust. She was manipulated and verbally abused by her husband throughout the play and she was used to steal a handkerchief which is the main reason for the killings and disrespect. Later on, she was killed by her husband while taking a stand against him which shows how misogyny the Elizabethan society was.
